Privacy Policy

Quit Overspending (“QO,” “we,” “us”) is a registered assumed name (DBA) of The Better Company LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company. This policy explains what personal information we collect through quitoverspending.com (the “Site”) and our course and community (together, the “Services”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect what we need to run the Services and market to people who asked to hear from us. We do not sell your personal information. We never ask for, and you should never give us, your bank login credentials or full account numbers.

1. Information we collect

You give us:

• Name and email address (opt-in forms, account creation, purchases)
• Phone number, if you opt in to text messages
• Billing information when you purchase (processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number)
• Content you post in the community and messages you send us
• Survey or onboarding answers you choose to provide

Collected automatically:

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referral source, and similar analytics data, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4)

We do not collect: bank credentials, full bank account numbers, or transaction-level financial data through the Site. The 5-Minute Money Method is built around your own bank balances; we do not connect to your bank.

2. How we use information

• Provide the Services: deliver the course, run the community, process payments, provide support
• Send transactional messages: receipts, subscription confirmations and renewal or cancellation notices, account and service updates
• Send marketing you opted into: email newsletters and, if you separately consented, text messages (see Section 5)
• Improve the Site and Services: analytics, testing, troubleshooting
• Protect and comply: prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, meet legal obligations

3. How we share information

We share personal information only with:

• Service providers who process it for us under contract: HighLevel (LeadConnector), our website, CRM, email, and SMS platform; Stripe, payment processing; Google (Google Analytics 4), Meta (Meta Pixel), and Microsoft (Clarity) for analytics as described in Section 4. They may use it only to provide services to us.
• Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
• Business transfers: if The Better Company LLC or the QO brand is sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with or sold to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, remembering preferences, measuring traffic, and (if enabled) advertising measurement. Current tools: HighLevel/LeadConnector tracking, Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, and Microsoft Clarity. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect Site function. Where a cookie banner is shown, your choices there also apply.

Some analytics or advertising cookies may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under certain state laws. You can opt out via the cookie banner (“Privacy choices”). We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law.

5. Email and text message marketing

Email. If you opt in, we send marketing emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional emails (receipts, account notices).

SMS. If you check the SMS consent box and provide your number, you agree to receive automated marketing and informational texts from Quit Overspending at that number. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. See our Terms of Service for more.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, obtain a copy, and opt out of targeted advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email support@quitoverspending.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by your state’s law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.

You can always: unsubscribe from email (link in every message), stop texts (reply STOP), request account deletion, and manage cookies in your browser.

7. Data retention and security

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations (for example, tax records for purchases), resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, and we rely on the security practices of our major providers (Stripe, HighLevel). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children

The Services are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. United States only

The Services are offered and directed solely to residents of the United States and are hosted in the United States. We do not target, market to, or knowingly collect personal information from residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, or any other country. If you access the Site from outside the US, you do so on your own initiative, and any information you submit will be processed in the US under this policy. If we learn we have collected personal information from someone we are not permitted to serve, we will delete it; you may also request deletion at support@quitoverspending.com.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced by email or Site notice before they take effect. The effective date above always reflects the current version.
